How To Buy Great Show Rabbits

Ready to get started or upgrade your herd of show rabbits?  Feel like you can't get your hands on really worthwhile stock?  Here are a few ideas for buying the stock you need to breed the very best rabbits you can.

Breeding Holland Lop Rabbits

Breeding rabbits is not as easy as the general public may think it is.  And breeding dwarf breeds of rabbits is even trickier.  Find out how to select breeding animals, to breed, and to care for newborn rabbits.  Problem-solving is discussed as well.

Holland Lop Rabbit Fur

This series of pages is all about Holland lop fur, including description of the fur we strive for, problems with fur, and how to condition your rabbit's fur.

Holland Lop Rabbit FAQs

Here in easy question-and-answer format is some wonderful information about Holland lops and rabbits in general.  If your question is not answered on this page, feel free to contact me and ask.  I may add your question to my page.

Coping with Diarrhea

Diarrhea is life-threatening in rabbits.  This page contains the story of how I found a sick doe and was able to save her life.

Rabbit Names

This list of rabbit names is no ordinary alphabetical list!  It's especially made for naming litters with related names.  Rabbit names are listed in groups by theme.  Use whichever names you like and suggest some new ones!

A Well-Stocked Bunny Barn

It takes a lot of "stuff" to raise a herd of rabbits.  I love to visit other people's barns and get ideas on how they do things.  I've shared on this page which items would make a well-stocked rabbit barn in list form.

Building Kindling Boxes

Kindling, or nest boxes as they are also called, are easy to make.   You can build ten from one sheet of plywood.  Mine are sized to use with plenty of hay nesting material.  I've had several responses from people who have used my plans for nest boxes who were very happy with their results.  Also read about how to use the nest boxes you build.

How to Build Hanging Rabbit Cages

I hate cages with trays!  They are too much work, in my opinion.  I have over 60 hanging cages that my husband and I made ourselves.  The plans for rabbit cages and instructions are flexible.  After you understand the basics, you will be able to design and build your own to suit your own space and your own tastes.

Magnet System of Rabbit Barn Management

"How do you keep up with all of this?"  I've heard that question so often.  In the office, I use a computer program.  But in the barn, I mark my rabbits with printed magnets I made myself.  It's easy to see who is bred, for example, just by walking down the aisles of my rabbitry.

People and Places - Photo Album

Check out these photographs from rabbit shows I've attended.  See if you recognize any faces!

A Glossary of Rabbit Terms

If you come across rabbit terms you do not know, you should be able to find it here.  If not, contact me and let me know what you want defined.

Date Code On Feed Bags

If your feed uses a simplified Julian date system, you can use this chart to match the three-digit number to a calendar date.

Breeder's Index

Ever see a rabbitry prefix on a pedigree and have no idea who the breeder was, what the prefix stands for, the name of the rabbitry or what state the rabbit is from?  Me, too!  I've begun this index so that breeders will have an easy place to go to find out the missing information.  Make sure your rabbitry is included in the breeders' index.  If not, contact me and let me know.
