How To Show Holland Lop Rabbits
|
Holland Lop Rabbit Show OrderLearn Holland Lop Show Order
Holland Lops are shown in two varieties (sometimes referred to as "groups"). So why do you hear Holland Lops called eight times during a rabbit show? Or maybe you knew that they are judged eight times, but can never remember which class comes next. The following explanation will help you always remember how Holland Lops are shown and be prepared for the next class of Hollands to be judged.
All
solid Holland Lops are shown before the broken patterned Holland Lops (that is,
the solid variety is shown before the broken variety). Solids
include self colors, shaded colors, chinchillas, sables, pointed whites,
blue-eyed whites and ruby-eyed whites. Then broken-patterned Holland Lops are
shown next (brokens have patches of color on a white background). There are four solid classes and four broken classes.
Within each variety (group), the two classes of senior Holland lops are shown before the two classes of juniors.
The last step is to show bucks before does. I guess rabbit breeders don’t believe in ladies first! But at any rate, we now have eight classes: solid senior buck, solid senior doe, solid junior buck, solid junior doe, broken senior buck, broken senior doe, broken junior buck, and broken junior doe.
If you get to the show and forget the order, just remember solid before broken, senior before junior, and then buck before doe!
