The Nature Trail's Nina Holland Lop Broken Black Tortoiseshell Senior Doe
I believe Nina is a false dwarf doe She is very attractive for a false dwarf and has a lot to offer my breeding program. Note the wide chest and heavy bone shown in this photo. I like the turn that her top line takes, not too early. I believe that many of the Hollands being shown today either peak too early and slope or are chopped in the hindquarter. I love to produce a Holland that I feel is neither. She's very full in the shoulder, loin and lower hindquarters.
For her second litter, I bred her to The Nature Trail's Breezy, a blue point, now owned by Dani Cole of Cole Run. I kept a tort buck and a broken sable point buck from the litter. The does went to live with the sire's owner. Of course, all of the offspring carry dilute. Nina's mother did, too, but it doesn't yet appear that Nina does. Nina produced two torts in her third litter, which were fostered, and she's nursing a litter of 5 for The Nature Trail's May. Nina now has a new home with Janice Jones of Willow Walker Wabbits.
