The Nature Trail Rabbitry BLOG
Cleveland, TN, Show, June 16, 2007
Anna and I arrived late on Friday night and got SOME sleep in the motel. The show started at 8:30 a.m., so we got up early and headed over to the showroom. The attendance was low, as it has been for a number of shows this year. Gasoline prices and busy lives I'm sure are the causes. We started off with Josh Humphries. Mike & Tiffany Harris have this knack for beating Java. I think this is the third time! But they made me feel better by telling me the buck was out of a doe I sold them. That's not so bad, then. My biggest hopes of the show each too their classes: Padawan, solid junior buck, and his sister Jamillia, solid junior doe. Crazy Horse beat out Lex and was BOG/BOS, I believe. That's his second leg. One more to go.Jamillia, in great condition and fur, was BOB.In the second show, we had Rusty Westhoff. He liked Padawan better, especially since Jamillia decided to tense up and not pose well for him. I guess she'd already had enough and she still had another show to go. Java picked up a leg.Congratulations to Kim Dixon on her BOS with a lovely broken doe. Kim says she's over two years old and has produced litters for her. I like that in a doe (breeding AND showing). It's rare. For the third show, we had Lori Neagle. She picked Java, Padawan, and Jamillia for their classes, but liked Jamillia for the BOS. Lex was BOB, beating his dad Java face to face. Nice. So, Java got two legs, Padawan got two legs, Jamillia got two legs, Crazy Horse earned a leg, and Lex earned a leg (#10 and he is just 7 months old). The Best In Show competitions were all at the end. I had three different rabbits to put on the table. The lucky boy was Padawan, who won BRIS. In my opinion, he may be the best junior buck I've ever produced. I hope that translates into the best senior buck as well.Congratulations to Charles Bryant who won twice with an English Angora. I believe the Rowlands won a couple of awards with their Mini Rex. I didn't catch who got the other one. Sorry. We got out of the show by 4:00 p.m. and arrived home just as it was getting dark at 9:30 p.m. That was nice. I'm usually midnight or after getting home from Tennessee.Laurie
Out of Business
I'm going out of my website business. I have found that I just don't have the time. Some projects have stretched on for over a year. While I had the time for it last year, I really don't this year. I plan to finish up all current projects by the middle of August. I'll work on all maintenance subscriptions until they expire. Laurie
