GC The Nature Trail's PanacheHolland Lop Broken Black Tortoiseshell Senior Doe
Panache was shown at a quad show a couple of weeks before Nationals. None of the judges seemed that thrilled about her and I almost scratched her. But then I decided to follow my own instincts and take her anyway. I had forgotten about a show back early March when Sakata and Panache came in second and third, and then third and second. I was beginning to think that I didn't know how to evaluate a Holland.
At Nationals, Sakata beat Panache on Saturday, but Panache did better than Sakata on Sunday. They are different styles of Hollands.
As time marched on, I ended up petting out Sakata while Panache got better and better. At ARBA National Convention 2006, Panache was just a couple of places behind her mother May: May was third and Panache was fifth - what a combo!
Panache produced a gorgeous daughter whom I named Legacy. Unfortunately, Legacy died in the same epidemic as her mother Panache and her brother Nash in June 2007. I am currently trying to coax along her two surviving kits and only living offspring.
Losing Panache was a huge blow to me personally and to my breeding program.
